details about location and lodging

The intensive is held at Marion Mobley Dance, 6708 W. 44th Ave., Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. Wheat Ridge is a suburb to the west of Denver, approximately 45 minutes drive from Denver International Airport. To be safe, leave yourself an hour to get between the intensive and the airport, as traffic can sometimes be problematic.

Evolition’s studio is within walking distance of Marion Mobley Dance. You can see our Visit Us page for ideas about lodging in the area. Look for home rentals near the dance studio if you wish to be within walking distance of the intensive.

lunch break and meals

Saturday through Tuesday, there is an hour and a half long break between sessions for lunch. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance of Marion Mobley Dance, and even more within a short drive. You are also welcome to pack a lunch and eat with us in studio or on some school grounds nearby.

Meals are not included with your intensive fees.

Filtered water (bring your own water bottle) and hot tea (mugs are provided) are provided at the studio. There are also a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and kitchen sink available for our use.

props

While we will do our best to borrow props from local studios, it is not possible for us to provide them to everyone. Plan to bring or make advance arrangements for all props required by the intensive. This includes a mat, a block, 2 blankets (will will provide more blankets; last year we needed up to 4 per person), a D-ring or Iyengar style closure strap at least 8’ in length, and a bolster. We may also use various balls, like a Gertie ball or a tennis ball. Chairs are provided by the dance studio.

We will organize props in the month or two prior to the intensive. Last year, a number of generous studio owners lent props to the intensives; between these and those brought by students, we had more than enough for all.

If you do not have props or do not wish to travel with them, there is an option for you to purchase props at a wholesale price through Hugger Mugger, have them shipped to the intensive, and then you ship them home. We will arrange for this about a month prior to the intensive, once we’ve identified what we’re able to borrow.
