Our studio runs on a six week on, one week off schedule.
We have found over many years that this is the most effective model for supporting our students in their practices. While we allow drop-ins, it’s our hope that you’ll make a 6 week commitment so you can experience the benefits of regular practice firsthand.
For our students . . . We have found that this structure helps our students stay motivated to fulfill their commitment to their health practices. Six week is just the right length of time to see changes in the body, and a good length of time to gain mastery over new movements or poses and see experience progression when appropriate. When a group of people commit to a session, it allows our teachers to develop programming specific to those in the group. This is part of the reason why we see such excellent results in people’s physical health goals: we teach to our students specifically.
For our teachers . . . Even before we come into the room with you, we are giving you our all. The “no class week” is intended to give our teachers space to maintain our own practices and tend to non-student aspects of teaching (like continuing education and marketing). We believe that, by taking time for our own study, we are healthier, more present teachers and far more focused and creative programmers for our students. It also acts as a barrier to burnout, which is a challenge in our industry.
