Cultivating Body Positivity: An Inquiry into Your Relationship with Your body

In order to heal my body, I need to love it.jpg

Do you struggle to maintain a positive self-image while simultaneously working to change your body? Extending love and acceptance to the body is a critical step in losing weight; healing from an illness, injury, accident, or violation; or working toward sobriety. But isn’t lovingly accepting yourself the opposite of knowing that something needs to change? How can you authentically do both at the same time?

Join us for this two-part exploration of your relationship with your own body. These experiential, trauma-informed inquiries will include guided explorations followed by optional group discussion, the goal of which is to illuminate your personal barriers to self-acceptance. Along the way, we’ll discuss how we can lean into the disciplines necessary to heal (healthy eating, completing physical therapy exercises or mental health programming, etc) in a deeply loving way.

TRIGGER WARNING: Exploring the intensely sensitive topics of body image and sexuality is likely to recall painful events and memories, and you may become triggered in the course of this workshop. While sensitive to the many forms of physical and emotional traumas that influence our self-image, this class is NOT trauma therapy. Please consider if you are emotionally and psychologically able to safely explore an inquiry on these sensitive topics.

You may attend the entire workshop or register for Developing a Positive Body Image or Embracing Healthy Sexuality separately.
