Outer Body, Inner Body, Subtle Body: A Kim Schwartz Weekend Workshop

  • Akasha Collective 5810 W. 38th Ave Suite 3 Wheat Ridge, CO 80212 USA (map)

When first experiencing Yoga, the practice is often felt from the muscles in the form of something felt as being tight or weak. With practice, we can become more aware that the actual structural strength is from the bones and that the muscles are there to animate and organize the bones so that they bear the weight. When the muscles and bones of the outer body work together harmoniously, we can then better sense that they create a structure for the inner body of the breath, organs, and nervous system.

Through the techniques of asana and breath awareness, this workshop will explore the process of function and awareness from the musculoskeletal outer body to the organic inner body. We will also begin to look at how the mind directs the nervous system. As the organs and nervous system settle, we may become more aware of energy flow throughout the body.

The Sunday session will conclude with a longer Savasana with the accompaniment of live music to experience Nada Yoga, the yoga of sound.

Friday 4/28, 6-8pm
